For facade and garage engineers

Walk the building once.Review the draft report in the morning.

Buildport is an AI project engineer for condition assessments. Narrate the walk hands-free, and it drafts the report in your template, reconciles last cycle’s repair items, and tracks every filing window. You review, you rate, you seal.

Now onboarding a small group of NYC and Florida engineering firms as launch partners.

Example Buildport record. Transcript: 09:14:02 Recorder: Dictation started. 09:14:05 M. Ortiz: Drop four, twelfth floor, north. Spall at the slab edge, about two by three, exposed rebar with some section loss. 09:14:31 M. Ortiz: Same bay as last cycle's SWARMP item seven, and it's worse. Flag it for my call. The engineer dictates an observation on the scaffold. Buildport records its location and photo, matches it to last cycle's SWARMP item 7, notes it has worsened, proposes an Unsafe rating for the engineer to decide, and adds it to a draft report marked for PE review.

Your Cycle 10 buildings are already here.

Buildport reads DOB’s public facade filings. Type your firm’s name to see what’s due, and which buildings carry SWARMP repairs from last cycle.4

Repairs don’t survive the cycle.

Every report runs on a legal clock, and last cycle’s findings have to be reconciled against this one. Today that memory lives in old PDFs.

  • 477 of 483NYC buildings that ended Cycle 9 rated Unsafe filed Unsafe again in Cycle 10.1
  • 461 of 938buildings that ended Cycle 9 as SWARMP filed SWARMP or Unsafe again.1
  • 1,587Florida milestone-inspection deadline extensions in 2024–25. Officials cited difficulty finding engineers and engineer workloads.2
  • 62%of NYC properties filed parking-structure reports by the first Local Law 126 deadline.3

Responsibilities

  • Turns your narration on the drop into located observations, each with its photo
  • Drafts the report in your firm’s template, with the photo log and observation table
  • Reconciles every repair item from last cycle: fixed, unchanged, or worse
  • Proposes a rating for each condition, with the observation behind it
  • Drafts the owner notice and lists the required DOB steps when you call a condition Unsafe
  • Tracks every filing window and repair deadline, and builds next cycle’s walk list

What it never does

  • Assigns a rating
  • Seals or signs a report
  • Files anything with DOB or a building official
  • Sends anything to an owner without your approval
  • Changes a report after you approve it

One building, start to finish.

  1. Before the walk

    Your walk list is ready

The building’s filing history and last cycle’s repair items, with photos and locations, in the order you’ll reach them.

  2. On the drop

    Say what you see

Narrate hands-free on your phone and a headset, gloves on, with no signal needed. Each photo attaches to what you just said.

  3. Walking to the car

    A walk summary

Every observation located, and last cycle’s items marked fixed, unchanged, or worse, with anything that needs your call at the top.

  4. Next morning

    Review the draft report

The report in your template, with a proposed rating and the evidence for each condition. You edit, decide every rating, and seal it in the tool you use today. Buildport prepares the filing data; you file.

  5. Between cycles

    Nothing falls through

Repair reminders to the owner, an amended-report package once repairs are done, and the next walk list ready before the window opens.

It knows the program you file under.

Become a launch partner.

We’re onboarding a small group of NYC and Florida engineering firms for Cycle 10 and this year’s milestone inspections.

What you get

  • Your buildings set up from public filings before your first walk
  • Buildport on your next inspections, in your report templates
  • A direct line to the team building it
  • Launch-partner pricing, locked in
  • A scorecard: days from walk to sealed report, hours per report, prior items reconciled

You’re a strong fit if

You seal facade, garage, or milestone reports, you have a filing window coming, and your reports take longer to write than the walk takes to do.

Work you do

Questions engineers ask.

Does Buildport rate or seal anything?

No. It proposes ratings with the evidence behind them, and you decide. It never seals, signs, or files.

Where does the building data come from?

NYC DOB’s public facade filings on NYC Open Data. We use them to set up your buildings before your first walk. Your own reports, notes, and recordings stay private to your firm.

Do I need special hardware?

No. Your phone and a Bluetooth headset work, including offline in garages and on scaffolds.

Does it use my report template?

Yes. You give us your template, and every draft comes out in it.

Is anyone else recorded?

Buildport is built for your own dictation. If someone else is present, it announces itself first, and your firm’s policy decides the rest.

What does it cost?

Launch partners get pricing locked in for the program. We’ll walk through it on a call.
